I'm an AHS (American Home Shield) customer and my outside A/C unit died. Reported the problem to AHS and had Total Air Care assigned with an appointment in 2 days (everything is 2 days out these days).

I live in SE Georgia, it's July 100 outside, temp in my house reached 110. So 2 days I can deal with, checked in to a hotel and waited for the service appointment. Tech arrived about 2 hours late, right before a major storm came through the area, walked up to the unit stuck a stick in gave the fan a spin and said it was the motor. Took down the part number said they'd order one and it would take about a week because of how slow AHS was.

Called AHS that night , nothing had been updated, called them the next day nothing had been updated, AHS called Total Air Care and got the information on Thursday and approved the part order on the spot. Part arrived on Monday and I had another appointment scheduled (get this) 2 days later on Wednesday. Same tech came out tore the outside unit apart and then bothered to pull out the replacement motor, I told him as soon as I saw it, that's the wrong motor, after about 20 minutes he agreed with me. He said that he would get the right one ordered, said prob be about a week.

Friday a "Special Tech" was sent to try to make the wrong motor work by drilling holes in the motor housing and was told to make it work. He couldn't and wouldn't because the motor was so much smaller and wouldn't do the job. He left, I called AHS for about the 10th time to complain. About 3 hours (and two weeks) later the "Special Tech" called me said he had driven to Savannah and bought the motor and was down the road to install it.

He got there and the unit working 100% in 10 minutes. Why could Total Air Care not done this two weeks earlier???? So after hotel bills, buying a window unit, etc i'm out about $1000 when I pay AHS to fix these issues. I'll be writing a letter to AHS complaining bout this vendor and i've requested that they never be assigned to me again.

Total Air Care is a horrible company, poor customer service, hour wait on the phone. The tech try their best to fix the problem but it doesn't appear that management will let them solve the issues.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $1000.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Total Air Care Cons: Never answer the phone, Blatant lies, Poor service, Long wait time.

Location: Ludowici, Georgia

I have been waiting 5 weeks for a part.

I also had to but two window units.

This company is incompetent.

That is because they are cheap bast***s trying to save a buck. And what they were trying to do to your unit was not only ethically wrong, that is insurance fraud.

They get paid by AHS to do the job right, unless AHS is purposely telling them to undercut, and do a *** job.

They are getting their money from AHS so they should do it the right way, the first time. Submit your bills to AHS for reimbursement , give them the timeline and everything that happened, submit the bill to the Owner of total air care M.Niquette@***.net also open a complaint with the BBB telling them you want your 1,000 dollars back
