Total Air Care - Misrepresented
This Company was sent out by my Home Warranty Company and the Tech told me that he could put freon in the unit. What he didn't know is that I had Mills AC out a month before and they put freon in my old unit and they stated the unit needed to be replaced.
I found out my AC was covered under the Home Warranty so that is how I came to calling the Warranty people and they sent Total Air to the house. The Tech wanted to put freon in the old unit again after he told me I had to pay for the new unit out of pocket at $2,650, so I got that in writing from him. I told him I would call in about a month after I got my money saved up to replace the unit. I called 3 weeks later and the price jumped up to $3,000 to replace the unit and he filed it with the Home Warranty as an "UPGRADE", therefore the unit was not covered by the Warranty.
I feel like I have been scammed by this company especially after speaking with two friends that just had their AC units replaced and all they paid for the service call.
Based on all the bad reviews online with this company, I will pursue getting my money back and they can file the invoice with American Home Shield properly to get paid. This was NOT an upgrade and I have the documentation from Mills AC stating the old unit was shot!!!
